Read more »The Romanian Energy Center Association (CRE) has successfully organised the 10th Consortium Meeting of the Horizon 2020 European Project "WiseGRID - Wide scale demonstration of Integrated Solutions and business models for European smart GRID", coordinated by the Spanish Group ETRA, on 22nd – 23rd October 2019 in Sinaia, Romania. WiseGRID will deliver to the European Commission, project partners and stakeholders, a set of solutions and technologies for developing intelligence, increasing the stability and security of European electricity networks, through various methods including energy storage technologies, the widespread use of electric vehicles and integration of a share of at least 50% of energy from renewable sources (RES). The project started on November 1st, 2016 and will lasts for 42 months.
Read more »On the 21st and 22nd of September 2019, from 6 to 12 pm, ASM Terni, pilot site partner in Terni, organised a WiseGRID citizen engagement event in Piazza Tacito, Terni, in the light of the TerniOn city festival. Thousands of people from the city and neighboring cities gathered together in the streets and squares in Terni. During TerniOn, all the shops stayed open at night, many organisations had a stand on the streets and people could enjoy some concerts.
Read more »Life on an island can be enticing. All the more so, when alongside beach fun a secure power supply is guaranteed. Until now, that has not always been the case on the small Cyclades island of Kythnos in the Greek Aegean Sea. So in June 2019, in the context of the European WiseGRID project five VARTA pulse neo systems from the newest energy storage generation were installed in public buildings to stabilise the island grid.
