The European Commission published a publication about the numerous benefits the new EU rules will provide, from different angles – environmental, economic, security of supply, consumer, international, and from a longer time scale.
At the end of 2018, EU legislators have finalised the Clean Energy for All Europeans Package. With this new legislative framework, project's like WiseGRID prove to have even more relevance in today’s energy landscape with its aim to provide a set of solutions and technologies to increase the smartness, stability and security of an open, consumer-centric European energy grid.
From 18th to 20th of June, WiseGRID partners gathered together in Athens for a project review. This 3-days extensive meeting was hosted by the Mesogia pilot site partners.

The 14th edition of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) ill take place from 18 to 20 June 2019. The Policy Conference is the biggest European conference dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. Sessions organised by the European Commission and energy stakeholders focus on sustainable energy issues, debate new policy developments, best practices and sustainable energy ideas. Next to the conference, the Networking Village brings the EUSEW Community together to forge alliances whilst the EUSEW Awards celebrate outstanding projects and ideas.
The European Utility Week is a platform for achieving a fully integrated and interconnected electricity system and market in Europe. It hosts the environment for all key players in the smart energy ecosystem to come together and discuss European strategy to achieve a smooth transition towards a low carbon energy supply. The 3-day programme explores four key areas in European energy: Digitalisation, Decarbonisation, Energy Markets and Innovation. Also for this year's edition, WiseGRID was well represented in the program.
